Summary - Episode 101 Pot Bellied Pigs
by Jeff Sass

The series premiere starts with Ben and Dr. Katz at their house discussing plans for employment for Ben. Ben describes how there is nothing for him in his chosen field as a daredevil. Ben then tries to walk off to go back to bed and Dr. Katz starts in on how he always wanted to be a psychologist. When he was 20 years old he took a job as a pimp because "there was nothing out there". Actually that was only a joke and his real job was working at his dad's factory as an elevator operator. He worked his way up from an elevator operator to the head of the elevator operators.

Katz then gets irrate about the dishes not being done and starts an argument. Ben suggests that they start using a schedule like they used to have but that idea doesn't take. Jonathan then wants to make up because he cannot go to work in a bad mood. He describes how one of his patients (Bill Braudis) does not think that his feet have finished and that he must start thinking about him. Ben has trouble answering the question "who loves ya?" and the scene ends with them hugging.

Back at work Dr. Katz asks Laura for a copy of the updated schedule and asks her to keep a copy for herself. She is on the phone and cannot help him at this time.

Bill Braudis enters the office and asks Laura for something to read while he waits. Laura hands him a patients file. Bill thinks that it is good but he isn't sure if he should be reading patient files but Laura says that it is okay.

Bill is now on the couch and describes the above mentioned problem with his feet. Dr. Katz explains that he is not a podiatrist but that psychologist sounds like podiatrist.

Bill's wife is a nurse from Canada but he hasn't asked anything else about her. He continues to then talk about how his mother is in his dreams, how he kept the receipt from the first time he had sex, and how he wore a clip on earring in college. He also says he was shy around women and how nowadays they call that stalking.

Bill's father is trying to quit smoking and after a failed attempt at hypnosis he tried "that thing with the needles" - heroine. His father loves it. Bill failed his drivers test twice - once for hitting someone and once for not knowing what to do at a red light.

Dom Irrera enters and tries to explain to Laura how to spell and pronounce his name. After an exchange involving not having anything to read (again), talking about how his girlfriend needs therapy, and asking if his nose is bulbous, he enters the office.

Bill now describes how much he loves the dentist and how his parents didn't have enough money left from their trip to pay for his teeth. The hygenist is the one who keeps causing his gums to bleed.

Hawaii was a great trip except he was the only one wearing coconunts on his breasts. He also didn't ever have any trouble with bed wetting "as a kid".

Ben calls and describes that he has a job in animal husbandry. The job is working at home with Vietnamese Pot Bellied Pigs. He orders them by mail and breeds them at home. The total price is $2999.99 per pig but you can "buy in bulk".

Dom is in the office now describing his hair loss. People apparently "love that friar tuck look". He is afriad that he will buy an unbelievably bad toupe with a chin strap and a label in the back. Dom went to catholic grade school where he refered to everyone as "sister my man" "my main man sister".

Ben enters and meets Laura for the first time. He explains that he is Ben Katz and that they both apparently work for Dr. Katz. "Los Benatos" then asks Laura out for coffee which she takes to mean that she is going out alone. Ben is left alone to answer the phone.

Dom explains how his father took other kids to the zoo. He wants Dr. Katz to "give a little" and then starts crying. He wants to lie Dr. Katz down on the ground and just talk. They then discuss dance, a general "protrusion", and a wheezing sound that Dom apparently has.

Dom is back outside with Laura and he owes $150 for the session which he doesn't have.

Jonathan wants Laura to stop reinforcing the bad feelings that the patients have. She then asks if he has any idea what it is like to "deal with crazy people all day".

Off to the bar for the first time where the topic of discussion is Ben's pigs and Stanley thinks that they are miniatures. He then orders a "mudslide on the beach on the rocks" and Julie is not sure if that is a drink or not. Stanley then attempts to describe finances to Jonathan but he says that he shouldn't write any of this down. "Pool and diversify" is the slogan.

Dom then wants to put a red chiffon evening gown on Dr. Katz and ride him around his house. Not in a gay way but it a viking sort of way. Dr. Katz has no response to this except that "you know what the music means" and the episode ends.
