There are a number of marimbists who are doing recitals around the country. I wanted to list out a few of them that I know about in order to promote the marimba to a larger audience.
Kyle Maxwell-Doherty gave a graduate recital at the Music Building, Crowder Hall in The University Of Arizona. The recital occurred on February 1, 2010 at 7:30pm. For more information visit the campus events page. The marimba piece is Kevin Puts “Canyon”.
Cat Boyd will present a junior recital later today which I hope will feature “Marimba For An Angel” by Orlando Cotto. It will be performed tonight at 8:00pm at the Boston Conservatory. For more information visit her Facebook event page.
Marco Schirripa will perform his second junior recital February 19, 2010 at 7:00pm in Nabenhauer Recital Room at Ithica College. This one will be with only 1 month of preparation because that is how he “rolls”.
Kendall Guischard will present a graduate recital at Duncan Recital Hall in Morehead State University Wednesday February 24, 2010 at 8:00pm. For more information visit his Facebook event page.
